00:45 – So there we have it. No late announcements from Stoke, only to confirm that Edu and Adam have received the all clear from the Premier League to feature against Wigan if Pulis so wishes. Nothing announced about Michael Owen, so we’ll have to wait and see about that deal.

That looks about us done for the evening and until January, still likely that players will leave once the loan window opens again for championship clubs. 21:59 - This, is it… The final 60 minutes to define the next three months. Though, it’ll probably go on longer than 60 minutes, knowing Premier League clubs.

21:48 – Popov is confirmed has having signed for West Brom on a season-long loan – suggested that Stoke changed their mind on him before the work permit hearing. Meanwhile, QPR’s Joey Barton is definitely heading to Marseille – also on a season-long loan. Spurs have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

21:36 - Incidentally, the Palacios deal with Fulham may not be off completely. Suggestions that a player-swap deal is still a possibility…

21:35 - Sky Sports reporting that Michael Owen is now a Stoke player; our sources saying he’s on a pay-as-you-play deal. I’m sure we broke that story three hours ago..?

21:34 – It was good whilst it lasted. Clint Dempsey is set to be the second player that Andre Villas-Boas has stolen from under Liverpool‘s noses (following the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson). With Dempsey currently at Spurs Lodge, it looks like Wilson Palacios’ move to Olympiakos may be back on.

21:27 - Hold the back pages…! We may be seeing some incredible wheeling-and-dealing here… Wilson Palacios, in a part-exchange deal for Clint Dempsey..? Wilson’s not really settled into the club since his move last season, and this would certainly meet the fan’s criteria of a new striker… Could Pulis be about to pull off a MASSIVE coup?!

21:02 - BBC Sport are reporting that Stoke have NOT been in contact with Michael Owen today, although no-one else is saying that. They are also saying that Wilson Palacios could be going out on a season-long loan to Greek side Olympiakos. New signings Maurice Edu and Charlie Adam are given shirt numbers 13 and 16 respectively – though it’s unclear if they’ll play a role in tomorrow’s game against Wigan.

19:50 - It’s all gone quiet again. That can only mean one thing… Either we’re set to announce a big signing, or every one is watching the UEFA Supercup. Oh, and Kenwyne Jones was last spotted in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, so it’s possible he was either making his way to the airport, or simply doing some shopping on his way home…

19:13 - No more news on Stoke signing anyone… Clint Dempsey’s wantaway move to Anfield has apparently been refused by Fulham, as Liverpool have a bid rejected. Do Fulham have someone waiting in the wings for the striker – could Pulis be looking into it? The truth remains that, if Kenwyne Jones is to leave the club (as is tipped), Stoke will need a new striker. Still awaiting confirmation too on Michael Owen wearing Stoke’s number 10 this season.

18:26 - Former Stoke target Popov is apparently all set to sign for West Brom; not quite sure what they’ll do about his work permit (although it’s possible Stoke administration staff missed something)..!

18:25 – BREAKING NEWS Unconfirmed reports that Michael Owen has signed for Stoke City.

18:06 – Well, the Bundesliga (and Italian) transfer window is closed. Hope no Stoke players were hoping for a move to Germany or Italy. Rafael van der Vaart has left Spurs for Hamburg though. Less than five hours until this window closes (at 23:00) – those fax machines must be in near-meltdown..! Just to make it clear – Italian and German clubs can still sell to English clubs up until 23:00GMT.

17:17 – It seems to have gone quiet again at Clayton Wood. Last time we said that, we got wind that Charlie Adam had signed for us; this time? Well, there are rumours we’re interested in Peter Odemwingie and Ivan Klasnic – so far though, nothing confirmed or denied. Presumably there’s some wheeling-and-dealing going on behind the scenes.
No confirmation of anyone leaving the club yet either, despite those earlier suggestions of Kenwyne Jones packing his bags for the south of France…

16:51 - Earlier Michael Owen was 1/8 on joining Stoke but could Celtic be lining up the former England striker? We’ve seen a run of bets and he’s now in from 50/1 to 5/1 to make the switch to Parkhead - it certainly seems like Celtic are in the hunt for a striker.

16:37 – Maurice Edu claims to be ‘excited’ by the Premier League opportunity offered him at Stoke, with a work permit finally secured for the American midfielder.

16:22 – Sky Sports reporting that Nzonzi’s agent is at Clayton Woods, the Michael Owen deal is back on and that Jones could be on his way to Marseille.

13:30 – Sky Sports understands that Marseille midfielder Stephane M’bia is on his way to London to undergo a medical at Queens Park Rangers. M’bia was a reported target for Stoke

13:29 – Steven N’Zonzi Seems to have been mistaken for Edu !! Confirmed that Maurice Edu is at Clayton Wood, whilst Steven N’Zonzi is nowhere to be seen… Rumours circulating he is at Everton’s training ground, though unconfirmed.

12:59 – Steven N’Zonzi has arrived at Clayton Wood. Things are beginning to get a bit exciting..!

12:40 – Local radio (Signal Radio) are reporting that agents of Chung Yong-Lee and Steven N’Zonzi are both at Clayton Wood right now. From the training ground, neither Kenwyne Jones or Ryan Shotton sounded too confident about being here next week, whilst Glenn Whelan seemed a bit more confident than before this morning’s training session.

12:20 - BREAKING NEWS We’re hearing Charlie Adam has officially signed for Stoke City. Suggestions of a four-year deal.

12:19 – The latest from BBC? “There is a calm before the storm feel about this little lunch time period” – couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Michael Owen hasn’t tweeted for the past hour or so, Charlie Adam’s medical is apparently the hold-up in him signing a four-year deal (delayed, rather than a problem), whilst we can only presume there are traffic problems on the M6 as we patiently await the “imminent arrival” of Steven N’Zonzi from Blackburn…

10:21 – Sky Sports understands Real Mallorca have finally agreed a deal with Birmingham for Nikola Zigic. Zigic was rumored to be a target of Tony Pulis before his move to Birmingham

10:08 – Possible developments on Clint Dempsey’s future as Sky Sports understands Fulham have agreed a fee with Aston Villa for the USA international. However, Villa boss Paul Lambert is apparently unaware of any possible deal for Dempsey, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Sunderland. Villa were linked with Kenwyne Jones earlier in the window.
