Any runners here ? Thought it might be good to share experiences, advice, injury cure / prevention etc.

C25K, Road, Trail… all welcome 👍

I am going to take up running again :) My knees & chest may not agree though ;-)

Have been a keen runner on & off since 1985 and have completed 3 marathons (London twice & Potteries - that was tough!), few half-marathons, ten milers and 10Ks.

Just keeping my aim modest - complete Coach to 5k and then hopefully complete a Park Run 5K later this year.

That’s great, hope it all goes to plan for you. I only started running two or three years ago so you’ve got a lot more experience than me. I am learning though, more about myself if anything and running more to how I feel than being a slave to my watch.

Done day 2, week 12 of Coach to 5K. Chosen Steve Cram as the training voice and luckily don't need Google translate to understand him ;-)
Well done, keep it going. C25K is a great format and works really well if you stick to it and don’t get tempted to jump ahead too much.

Im having an enforced week off in the hope my plantar faciitis eases a bit. I’m using the spin bike to keep a bit of fitness but can’t wait to get back out over the fields again. I might even have next weeks sessions on the treadmill as it’s a bit softer on the heels. I’m on week 8 of a 16 week program in the run up to an event in March so I could well do without this 🙄

Hope you recover soon. Never easy training as sod's law you will get some sort of niggle or injury. Be better if these training programmes built in a spare week or two to cover injuries or illness.

After a week off I thought I’d try an easy 5 miles on the treadmill. Run went ok with only slight discomfort but suffered through the night 😞 physio appointment next week but I’m not sure there’s an easy fix. My March ultra is now beginning to look unrealistic and may have to rethink this years plans.

I think Wesley may have a similar problem 😂
